Specialist UK Restorations were appointed to undertake the restoration and structural stabilisation of the Grade II listed Hydraulic Tower, a landmark feature within the new Everton FC stadium development at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Phase 1 involved full structural scaffolding and a make-safe package to protect the tower from vibrations caused by the compacting of the sand used to infill the former dock and provide the foundations for the stadium.
In Phase 2, Specialist UK Restorations completed extensive brickwork restoration using salvaged and colour-matched materials, alongside steel preservation, new structural openings, and roof reconstruction sympathetic to the original design.
Delivered in collaboration with heritage consultants and Liverpool City Council, the project preserved the tower’s historic fabric and architectural character while ensuring its long-term structural stability.
